SMK is active in the field of developing, managing and testing sustainability criteria and certification. This makes sustainable business transparent, reliable and verifiable. Producers’ organizations, retailers, the government, scientists, social organizations, environmental experts and representatives of consumer interests collaborate on the content of the requirements. Independent certification institutes check whether products meet these requirements.
The programs of SMK
SMK runs several certification programmes through which we help sectors to become more sustainable. In addition, SMK advises on sustainability and carries out commissioned projects for the application of instruments to increase sustainability, such as benchmarks or new certification schemes.
