Timber Procurement Assessment Committee (TPAC)
The Timber Procurement Assessment Committee (TPAC) tests wood certification systems against the Dutch Procurement Criteria and advises the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment on the subject. This committee was set up because the central government has committed itself to purchase only in a sustainable way. In addition to the procurement criteria, developed with Dutch stakeholders, TPAC has clear procedures which ensure that the assessment of certification schemes is transparent, reliable, and verifiable.
Independent composition
The committee consists of four independent members and is composed so that knowledge of the three P’s of sustainability; people, planet and profit is present.
